Get Your Car Ready for Summer

Summer – everyone’s favourite time of the year. There’s no other time of the year like it. And there’s no better time to own a car when the sun is shining and the summer months roll around.

Summer’s heat, dust, and stop and go traffic will take their toll on your vehicle. Most people think of summer as a time for road trips and beach getaways. For others, its the time to let the top down and turn the tunes up. Whatever you use it for it’s important that you make sure it’s completely ready for summer.

Here’s a list tips by Superior Auto Styling’s mechanic:

Get your car ready for the sunny days

  • Purchase a sun shade or get your windows tinted

The interior of your car is easily damaged by bright sun. The strength of the summer sun can make the colours of

your dashboard and front seats fade.

To protect your car from this sun damage get your windows tinted or buy a sunshade and keep it in your car at all

Tip: When driving in the summer, try to park your car in the shade as much as possible.

  • Check your air conditioning. Make sure it is running well

With the sun shining right at you chances are you will be using the air condition a fair amount of times during the summer, which means it should be working well. Even if your air condition seems to be working, it might not be working at full speed which could be a problem during the hottest days of the summer.

Before summer comes along, take your car to Superior Auto Styling so we can have our mechanic inspect it.

  • Check your tires. Make sure they are in good shape

Be sure to give your tires a visual inspection, to make sure they’re in good shape. If they need replacement, Superior Auto Styling has a selection of good quality tires. You need to make sure your tires are in good shape before hitting the road.

  • Check your brakes. Make sure there are good pads

Make sure your brakes are in working condition. If you’re feeling confident you can inspect them yourselves but you can always drop by shop and we can have our mechanic inspect it for you.

  • Get a comprehensive inspection

While brakes and tires are the most important elements to have your car inspected, having a comprehensive inspection is also a good idea.

Since you’re likely to drive your car more during the summer, you want to make sure your oil is clean, your fluid levels are all sufficient and all the components of your car are working properly.

Get your car fun for the summer

  • Wash and detail your car

Get your car washed thoroughly and detailed. Whether you have a second hand sedan or a brand new convertible, you should get your car looking good for the summer.

Take your car to a trusted auto detailer and have it washed, waxed and detailed, so it looks, feels, and smells like new.

  • Add some fun to the interior

Add a fun personality to the cabin of your car. Since it’s summer, you’ll likely have more people in your car, so its a good idea to put a touch of your personality to it.

You don’t have to spend much for this, it could be as simple as adding air freshener or maybe even new seat covers.

With just a few preparations, you can have your vehicle ready for whatever summer throws at you. Summer is the best time of the year so don’t let your car hold you back from enjoying it to the fullest!
